Get to know me!

Background

I grew up in Eden Prairie, MN and as the oldest of four sisters, I naturally took on the role of the leader of the group! My mom is Colombian, so I grew up speaking Spanish and immersed myself with the culture at home from music to food. I also attended a Spanish immersion school from kindergarten through 6th grade and made some lifelong friends along the way that I still spend time with today. From a young age, I’ve always had a strong curiosity and a love for learning. Whether it’s through reading books or exploring different cultures and perspectives, I’m constantly seeking new ways to understand the world around me!

Art

Okay, hear me out... Art museums are some of the coolest places on earth. So far, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting the Minneapolis Institute of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and they’ve all left a lasting impression. I’m especially drawn to renaissance, impressionism, and classical art. What I love most about art is how it can be both visually stunning and deeply emotional. It often moves me in so many unexpected ways. I also appreciate how art provides a window into different cultures, which offers new perspectives. Someday, it is my goal to travel the world and explore even more art!

Charlie

He may be the family dog, but to me, Charlie is my dog. We adopted him during the COVID pandemic in 2020, and throughout lockdown, he truly became my best friend. He’s the best walking buddy I could ask for and a seasoned cuddler. Honestly, he’s been such a huge source of comfort and keeps me going every day… I do not know who I would be without him!

Music

Music has always been a huge part of my identity. Not to be that person, but I really do enjoy listening to almost every genre. While it’s impossible to pick favorites, I can say that Lana Del Rey, Maluma, Taylor Swift, and Bon Iver are always on repeat. Music has been my go to for everything. From picking myself up when I’m feeling down, to accompanying me on walks, or even hyping me up before a big exam or presentation. I’m always happy to share recommendations or hear what others are listening to, so let’s chat about music!

Travel

Traveling. Where do I even begin? Throughout college, I made it a personal goal to explore as much as possible, and I’ve been fortunate enough to see a lot of different places. In just the last few years, I’ve visited New York City, Denver, Honolulu, San Francisco, and even Israel & Palestine. For me, traveling is an incredible way to grow, create lasting memories, and gain a deeper understanding of different cultures and perspectives. I can’t wait to see where I’ll go next!
